A little about who I am :-

My name is Anne Hyland and I am delighted to be a Celebrant and Solemniser with OneSpirit Ireland, living in Co. Meath Ireland.

I'm originally from Essex in England and was bought up Anglican. I moved to Jersey in the Channel Islands and fell in love with an Irish man in 1988. We spent some time living back in Essex, but after getting married, we moved to Ireland in 1999, where I embraced the Irish way of life, and the richness of Celtic warmth with passion. For many years I worked in Community Development and volunteered as a Youth Worker in the Irish Girl Guides. This was where my love of creating thoughtful ceremonies and appreciation of people from all backgrounds, abilities and religions was born. I was sadly widowed in 2017 after 29 years together.

Coming out of the fog of grief, and trying to fathom out who I was on this new unexpected path, it motivated me to explore the idea of studying for a Counselling Degree. At that time, I was introduced to the Onespirit Interfaith Foundation by a friend who was a Celebrant. On the Information Day it was clear that studying with them was the perfect fit for me; with my love of ceremony, my compassionate heart and my love of exploring life, faith and how our minds work; my husband used to call it 'Annieology'! After two years of intense study, my ability to listen without judgement, or self reflection, has been honed, and my creative skills for ceremony have been inspired and refined, resulting in my Ordination in July 2022. As a fully insured member of OneSpirit Ireland, ROSIM and OneSpirit Interfaith Foundation, I can provide a reliable professional service to all who contract with me.

I have enjoyed working with many couples, and each ceremony has been unique, and almost magical, bringing the tingles. I am broad minded with a sense of fun, and would be open to the idea of a themed wedding, even to the extent of dressing up for the occasion. Your Wedding, Your Choice! I have noticed that all my ceremonies as a Celebrant have had a delightful mixture of honouring family, beautiful music and readings, symbolic traditions, romance, craic and the celebration of life and love.
